New York, I LOVE YOU

New York, I LOVE YOU
I remember riding in a taxi one afternoon between very tall buildings under a mauve and rosy sky; I began to bawl because I had everything I wanted and I knew I would never be so happy again.
— F. Scott Fitzgerald

Have you ever read something so spot on that you could just dissolve into the words on the page and live in that moment? I’ve come to the conclusion that F. Scott Fitzgerald is one of my spirit animals. The way he writes about New York, a city that has held my heart for so long, he must truly understand me. I remember having this feeling about the city when I moved there on my own at twenty-two to live out my Carrie from ‘Sex and The City’ dream life. Can you really talk bout NY without a nod to the show that brought this dream city into our homes each week?

I make a “pilgrimage” if you will to NY around the same time each year, in hopes of re-realizing this fantastical moment in my life. I truly believe the best time to visit NY is during the fall season. The city can be uncomfortably hot and humid during the summer months or unbearably cold in the winter, making it more difficult to take full advantage of the city during the day.  There’s so much to see, do and explore on any given day in NYC, making the ideal temps (usually mid 70’s) of the fall the most ideal time to explore all that New York’s walkable boroughs has to offer.
